Verema, Spain’s leading wines, spirits, wine tourism and foodie online community made public the names of the winners of their 2017 Awards, based on the opinions of more than 11,300 users, a record number of voters. La Rioja Alta, SA, earned first place in the Winery with ‘Best Track record in Recent Years’ category, a recognition of the most recent endeavours of our Haro winery and a reward for the quality of the wines made by our century-old house.

In the ‘Best Red of the Year’ category, our 2004 Gran Reserva 890 came in second, obtaining a place in the podium of Spanish wines most widely-recognised by Internet users and consumers during the past year. 

This year the prize-giving ceremony of the 2017 Verema Awards is to take place on Thursday, 15 February at 7 p.m. in the Apolo room of the Malvarrosa Columnary at the Hotel Balneario Las Arenas in Valencia. A luxurious setting that will host the seventeenth Verema Valencia Experience on the following day. Our winemaking group will be there with a display table where participants will have the opportunity to taste the latest vintages available on the market of a selection of wines from La Rioja Alta, S.A. (Rioja), Torre de Oña (Rioja Alavesa), Áster (Ribera del Duero) and Lagar de Cervera (Rías Baixas).
