The 2020 Haro Station Wine Experience reveals its extraordinary wine and food proposal

The Haro Station Wine Experience presented the fourth edition of the great gourmet festival, to be held on 20 June in Haro. It will once again be an unforgettable day, thanks to the brilliant wine and food proposal that the six wineries have arranged for an event that will be enjoyed by more than 3,500 visitors from all over the world.

The Haro Station Wine Experience has revealed the great wines that each winery has chosen for the occasion: Monopole Clásico 2017 and Imperial Reserva 2016, by CVNE, Viña Pomal Gran Reserva 2012 and Lumen Reserva 2017, by from Bodegas Bilbaínas Viña Pomal, Flor de Muga 2019 and Muga Reserva Selección Especial 2015, by Bodegas Muga, Montes Obarenes Blanco 2016 and Honorable 2016, by Bodegas Gómez Cruzado, Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2012 and Viña Ardanza 2010 Selección Especial, by La Rioja Alta, S.A, and RODA 2016 and RODA I 2015 by Bodegas RODA.

An offering of great wines accompanied by truly luxurious cuisine by the chefs of some of the most significant restaurants in the country, known for their exceptional wine lists and for considering wine an essential component of their culinary proposal. The Roca brothers (El Celler de Can Roca), the Echapresto brothers (Venta Moncalvillo), Iñaki Murúa and Carolina Sánchez (Íkaro), Eneko Atxa (Azurmendi), Josean Alija (Nerua) and Julio Miralles (Zalacaín) are the chefs whose tapas will accompany this year's great wines. The sweet ending will be provided by the master chocolatier and confectioner from La Rioja, Juan Ángel Rodrigálvarez.

The presentation also revealed another of the great new features of this fourth edition. It is the celebration the day before, Friday 19 June, of an exclusive master tasting led by the sommelier Josep Roca, 2020 Engine Driver of the Year, open to the public, but with limited capacity, for which it will be necessary to purchase a ticket in advance.

Roca expressed his delight, adding that "it is a source of pride to have received the title of 2020 Engine Driver of the Year. For me it is a huge opportunity to be a part, as ambassador, of a very important event that offers happiness linked to the land. The Haro Station Wine Experience is the most important wine event that can be shown to the world. It teaches that wine is alive, that it is a lifestyle, a way of showcasing the landscape and making it known to everyone.”

The president of the Station District Association, María Urrutia, reiterated that "we are very happy with this fourth edition of the Haro Station Wine Experience, in which the commitment to haute cuisine is impressive, amply reinforced by an exceptional Engine Driver of the Year, Pitu Roca. I can't help but encourage everyone to experience it on 20 June, as it will be a memorable event.

Ms Urrutia also announced the new impetus to be given to the Day for Professionals in the Haro Station Wine Experience, which, in 2020, will be held on Monday 27 April with hundreds of professionals (sommeliers, restaurateurs, distributors and journalists, among others) who will be able to enjoy the latest wines on the market from the six wineries, as well as their upcoming launches.
