Four La Rioja Alta, S.A. group wineries obtain top BRC Food Safety standard classification

1

Barón de Oña, the latest winery to obtain grade A certification, the highest possible on an international scale, in standards for food quality and safety

Barón de Oña, located in Páganos (Álava) recently obtained Grade A BRC Standards for Food Safety classification, the highest possible, previously obtained by another three of the group's wineries: La Rioja Alta, S.A. (Haro), Comercializadora La Rioja Alta, S.A. (Labastida-Álava) and Lagar de Cervera (O Rosal - Pontevedra).

Applied in the wineries since 2006, these standards are used on an international scale as a framework of reference for the manufacture of food products, and establish the safety, quality and operational criteria required by all organisations engaged in the manufacture of food products in order to fulfil their obligations regarding legislation and consumer protection. Our wineries undergo a thorough examination every year of their facilities, operative systems and procedures, covering the entire process from raw materials to dispatch of the finished product.

This new Grade A certification, issued after a thorough audit conducted by SGS, an independent agency, confirms a high degree of competency regarding food safety and quality systems and also reaffirms the group's commitment to provide all its clients, both individuals and companies, with the best possible service and quality in all its wines and products.
