Barķn de Oņa is a small but beautiful architectural complex comprising the winery, the château and, some distance away, the Chapel of Santiago. The surrounding vineyards supply the exclusive fruit with which Barķn de Oņa is crafted.
The vineyard is the true protagonist at the Torre de Oņa winery and represents the origin and essence of Barķn de Oņa. wine.
With yellowish-ochre clay loam soil, the 65 hectares of the San Martín Estate are 1,800 ft above sea level, practically the highest that vines can be grown in this area. All the hard work put into the vineyard is finally rewarded with just 5,000 kg per hectare of the best tempranillo and mazuelo.
As in all great terroirs, each plot of land has a different personality, due to the orientation gradient and age of each plant.
